Halloween Flick Picks, 2012

Every October I have a list of holiday themed movies that I love to watch- inspiring the spooky atmosphere we all love at this time of year. Of course, however, my wish list is often too ambitious even for a month’s worth of time. BUT I do try to get to as many as a can so here is a list of what I viewed this October.

Alien (1979)

Misery (1990)

The Invisible Man (1933)

Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954)

Godzilla vs. Monster Zero (1965)

The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

Beetlejuice (1988)

Frankenstein (1931)

The Bride of Frankenstein (1935)

The Mummy’s Hand (1940)

Abbott and Costello Meet the Mummy (1955)

The Wolf Man (1941)

Werewolf of London (1935)

Frankenstein (1931)

Hocus Pocus (1993)

*Halloween (2007)

*Son of Frankenstein (1939)

The Wolf Man (1941)

*Denotes a partial viewing

1930s (5) 1990s (3) 1940s (2) 1950s (2)  1960s (1) 1970s (1) 1980s (1) 2000s (1)

This year seems different. Yes, the earlier films are usually heavily featured, but I have many favs from the 80s in particular (An American Werewolf in London, John Carpenter’s The Thing, and The Evil Dead series). I find it strange that these usual All Stars weren’t present this year. Oh well, there’s always the rest of the year. bah haha.
